Ikea’s new brand spot, “Home Lessons” highlights how the pandemic has “sparked new possibilities”, and brings some perspective on the struggles the pandemic has brought upon us. And while people have faced and still live uncertainty, the brand opted for a positive message.
Of course, to address this in ‘the right tone’, the music had an important part to play. You will probably recognize the uplifting alt rock classic, The Middle – originally written and performed by Jimmy Eat World and nicely covered here by the band Freedom Fry. To find this perfect tune, Rethink and Music Rights Clearance teamed up and made a few tests with various songs but this one ended up doing ”alright” (to say the least)!
