Montreal, October 13, 2020 Katie Seline, music licensing specialist, joins the Music Rights Clearance (MRC) team as Project Manager and Licensing Specialist for advertising.

After getting her start as an intern at MTV in their legal and business affairs department, Katie has continued to work in the music and media industry for over ten years. After some time in radio as the General Manager of Concordia University’s campus/community radio station, CJLO 1690AM, Katie shifted to licensing music for multi-national companies like TouchTunes and Stingray. She has also worked in philanthropy, helping partner artists with charities to raise funds with PLUS1. Katie is also a member of the teaching staff at Trebas Institute as part of the Music Business Administration program and teaches Music Publishing and Career Management. She holds a BA in Communications from Concordia University, an MA in Music Business from NYU, and a certificate in Copyright from Harvard University.

Music Rights Clearance is very happy to be able to count Katie as a member of our team. Her expertise, savoir-faire and her personality makes her an ally of choice to negotiate and license the greatest songs for our clients. She already helped find and clear a famous French title for Kruger’s campaign in Quebec, as well as Aimes-tu la vie comme moi from Boule Noire for Canada Life and 90s favorite Pop hit: Miss You Like Crazy by Moffatts for the latest campaign for Philadelphia Cream Cheese

Music Rights Clearance also recently announced partnering with Quebec lead music house, Lamajeure studio, for all re-arrangements and original music needed for their clients.

“Our daily life is speaking to managers, publishers and record companies to negotiate the rights to the greatest English and French titles, for the biggest advertising agencies who wish to use the best music in their productions”, underlines the Managing Director Vanessa Hauguel. “Since each licensing project is a mad race against the clock, we wanted to make sure we had all the resources on hand for our clients, to respond with creativity, responsiveness and extreme thoroughness.”
